About This City

Washington was founded in 1791 named after George Washington ~ The First President of the United States (at the time thirteen coloinies). This city serves as the capital of the United States of America, and as of 2020, about 690,000 people were living in the District of Columbia, with about 5 million in the DC region. The capital of the United States was shifted overtime during it's "Thirteen Colonies" era. It was at one point Philadelphia, during the American Revolution, then York Pennsylvania in September of 1777, then Princeton New Jersey in 1783, then Annapolis Maryland in November 1783, then Trenton New Jersey in November 1784, and New York City in 1785, then was shifted to Washington DC in March of 1789, and was the capital of the USA ever since. Washington DC was one of the cities which was impacted during the September 11th attacks, after American Airlines 77 crashed into the northwest side of the pentagon, but was actually saved by passangers on United 93 when they crashed the plane into a field near Shanksville Pennsylvania. An Earthquake would cause the Washington Monument to crack in 2011, and was closed for 3 years for repairs.

Area Climate

Washington DC's Summers are usually warm, with mean highs reaching the mid to upper 90s, with cold winters with mean lows reaching the teens or single-digits. For more information visit this website.
